A Tight Glove

in Writing

Don’t confound a tight glove with a well fitting glove. – From 17 Don’t s for Men, 1890′s. See the full list on Kitschy Kitschy Coo.

There is a small margin between a glove that fits well and one that is too tight. If you squeeze your hand in a fist you should quickly know whether or not your glove is too tight. In writing, you need to read your words out loud to hear if they fit well or are too tight or too loose.

Word Grrls is my mad science experiment, my adventures with fame and world domination (politely). This is where I inspire people to create: invent mutations, cause change, bring colour into your world. Web writer since 1998. Find me on StumbleUpon , and Tumblr.

You’re right. I always read my post out loud before I publish it. But not too loud =)
