Imagine a great pair of dangly earrings, those fancy ones they call chandeliers. You inherit them from your Great Grandmother or maybe an admirer gifts them to you in all his high esteem and admiration. However they come to you they become an extension of your head almost. Only getting removed from your head when you have a shower or go to bed.
Write about the adventures of the dangly earrings. How they get caught in your hair. How you were visiting a friend and her cat went bonkers over your sparkling, shining, dangly earrings. Or that time your boss said they were too glamorous for the office but didn’t actually say you shouldn’t wear them.

Ah yes, dangly earrings. They make you want to wear them, don’t they? I have a vague recollection (I’ve tried to block the painful memory) of having my head virtually stuck to my right shoulder for hours (it was probably all of 30 seconds) because the dangling earring was caught in the extravagant collar of the lace blouse I was wearing for a formal occasion. Yikes!!
Who WAS it who rescued me?? A colleague I don’t know well is my recollection. Someone who was very kind and worked industriously to extricate the earring from my blouse without damaging me, the earring OR my blouse (as well as preserving decorum and making sure I kept the blouse on throughout the ordeal).
Have I worn those earrings again? Why, of course. They’re beautiful.
(Of course, I remember you! Please excuse the delay in reply; I was out of town when your email arrived. Are you still baking single loaves of bread? And to stay on topic, do you wear your dangly earrings when you are kneading the bread?)
I have some dangly earrings but they just live in my jewelry box. I do still make bread. We are going to be baking on Friday for Thanksgiving. A lot of family should be showing up. (Or what seems like a lot to me these days).
Great to hear from you.
I love dangly earrings. I usually wear it with my long dress. I really haven’t heard chandelier earrings until I read it here. Well I’m excited to have such earrings and maybe I could put it in my sustainable boutique collections.
