I’m with Megan, it builds on itself and I enjoy it more that way. Rather than seeing the blog as an obligation, it’s more “ooh, I can’t wait to write that post.”

I have idea post-its rather than an idea folder. I may need to improve my system, though, because right now I have one that says “same house laptop” which I know was for a great post but I have no clue what it was now.

I like this post a lot!
I find that the more I blog, the more ideas I have for posts. If I take too many days off, it’s harder to get back to it.

This is an awesome post! I often find myself with a bit of “blogger’s block,” so I just don’t post. Trying to wait until I have something big or super-meaningful to say just doesn’t work a lot of the time, as my life is largely drama-free at this moment. Thanks so much for this!

This was the perfect post to find after a couple of very undisciplined weeks. While it is true that I’ve been busy in the “real” world, my mind refused to “come to the page.” Some days you just have to force the action of writing.
I keep tons of different folders with tidbits in them, but tend to get such a big mess that I won’t deal with it. What I really need is someone standing over me with a whip … no, nothing kinky … just someone to whom I am accountable.
You’ve inspired me. I must work on my topic list. Thank you!

Great thoughts. A Moleskine or other sketchbook becomes my folder. I used to do a lot more advance date posting but found that by the time I got to that date I was not thinking or feeling the same way.

I’ve been blogging under one name or another since 2000. While that may sound impressive the reality is that there’s been a tonne of inconsistency. On the other hand even that hasn’t been as evil as it may sound because blogging has been a reflection of the seasons of life I’ve passed through, some full, some vacuous, some redirection.

Most recently I find I want my posts to represent my life a bit more real time and it seems that each day presents something to me as “content.” I think the real secret for me has been that I have found my way, my voice if you will which is as much about drawing as it is writing and I’m finally comfortable with who I am period and therefore who I am in the blogging world.

I also will forward date posts if I have a great idea. I won’t do 2 posts on 1 day so that helps. Since I have a book blog, I also post whenever I finish a book of any sort, that is my 1 hard core rule. Thanks for the post!
