Hey stopping in from CCWA. Hoping I am added soon.
Oooh Keanu, I love him, Speed makes me drool still! LOL!

I do have many versions of an alter ego. Sometimes she is a singer and if there is a cd in, maybe that is me singing. Yes I JUST ADMITTED that, I am such a geek!

Hey Pretty Princess T! At least I know I am not alone in this alter-ego thing (no pun intended!) But I have two: Raine de Saba, and Nina Kupenda. Raine de Saba is a woman who leaves no stone unturned in her quest to tell all: her abusive marriage to a gay man, her two years of adventurous (and sometimes dangerous!) internet dating, and various salacious escapades involving men and food and, well... sex in all its forms, shapes and sizes and flavours! Then there is Nina Kupenda - she is my black alter ego. (I am a white South African who has grown up in the New South Africa - but continues to fight the latent racist (both ways) consciousness in the news etc.) Anyway, Nina is me - but Xhosa. (A Ghanaian friend of mine saw my painting of a Xhosa mother and child before she actually met me - and later revealed she thought the artist was a black woman.) Nina writes about the happier, more beautiful things - and is currently busy with a recipe book about sexy food... lol! But no-one in my personal life knows about Raine de Saba. She exists as my private Pandora's Box that I open from time to time to let the pain out...
PS. Reine de Saba is a dark, decadent French chocolate torte, and directly translated means 'The Queen of Sheba'. Ninakupenda is "I love you" in Swahili :)

This is a great post!

I often have alter egos running through my mind, but they don't have specific names. The only one that has a specific name is Celestine. I think of her when I want to feel sexy or feel better about myself. But I have a famous writer alter ego, a mother alter ego, and one that takes risky adventures. They all help me live a little more than I normally do. And sometimes I listen to what they want and play along.
