Found, Many Years Later

From Linsey Teppner on Facebook:

Why is it that when we put something important in a “safe place” that seems obvious at the time, it is really the last place we’d ever think to look later on?

I commented: That happens to me all the time. I never get it either. But I end up finding things years later and being amazed at where I put them.

Write a story about something that gets “put away safely” and found many years later, maybe by someone else entirely.
