Canadian Living Magazine runs a monthly 500 word column to celebrate a place or event that represents the essence of Canada. You can send in your submissions to the magazine by email or regular mail.

What would you write about your country? Take some time to think about what represents the essence of your country, or even your town if you want to take it to a smaller scale. Put together 500 words and then submit it to a local publication. See if it gets accepted. I think it’s a lovely idea. Canadian Living has published some great personal points of view from Canadians.

Word Grrls is my mad science experiment, my adventures with fame and world domination (politely). This is where I inspire people to create: invent mutations, cause change, bring colour into your world. Web writer since 1998. Find me on StumbleUpon , and Tumblr.
