Close the door. Write with no one looking over your shoulder. Don't try to figure out what other people want to hear from you; figure out what you have to say. It's the one and only thing you have to offer. - Barbara KingsolverI find it hard to really focus on writing something and then be interrupted and go back to it. It is especially aggravating to be interrupted over and over and over again. I like this quote cause I just love the idea of being alone when I write. It doesn't happen very often.

It is a great quote. No wonder Kingsolver is one of my favs.

I find a lot of people don’t respect your time. At work, it is bad enough when the chatter comes over to distract you. But when you are at home, nobody respects your time - can you … ? Do the laundry, pick up some groceries, fix the faucet, go to the post office? No. Treat my time with respect.
It takes ages to recover from an interruption (never mind that we are often our own worst saboteurs as we “quickly” browse the web).
