It's not easy to be interrupted when you are focused on something you're enjoying or really involved in. But, if you pause yourself when in the middle of doing something else, it is interesting how your brain can come up with all kinds of ideas. I think it's a case of using the flow you were already feeling and then sidetracking it a bit. Thoughts are still flowing and yet you have diverted it from input to output.
