You Should Be a Science Fiction Writer
Your ideas are very strange, and people often wonder what planet you’re from.
And while you may have some problems being “normal,” you’ll have no problems writing sci-fi.
Whether it’s epic films, important novels, or vivid comics…
Your own little universe could leave an important mark on the world!
There’s an odd smell in your house. Like a really strong perfume that almost chokes you with scent. It’s that damned ghost again. She’s likely in the kitchen trying to open the fridge. Silly thing still doesn’t know she’s deceased and can’t eat peanut butter and jam sandwiches any more. She can’t even open the fridge.
You go ahead and make the sandwich, sit at the table while she tries to eat it and then just pretends she is, to humour you. What do you talk about with her?
I don’t feel pressured about getting older, too much. But if I sit here quietly and let the thoughts creep in, I do begin to understand how some people are getting upset and panicked about aging as we hit close to the age of 50, 60 or whatever the mileage happens to be for you.
What sign of age makes you feel old? I’ve got chin whiskers which I pluck out now and then (as I feel them), grey hairs which I decided to colour when plucking them out began to seem a bit silly for someone my age. But, the only thing that makes me feel old is my actual number of years. I will be 45 this year, much later this year but still it is on the final approach. You just can’t stop time. Not yet anyway.
So, what makes you feel old? Is it something you can pluck out or are you stuck with it?
I found this on a fridge magnet which I had buried in a pile of stuff. (I’m not someone to give lessons on organizing your clutter).
A goal is a dream with a deadline.
Isn’t that a great theme to work by? It comes from Kasey and Company, right here in town. I don’t know how or where I got it originally. I must have liked the idea.

Take 100 steps
Or 200 or 300. It really doesn’t matter how far just pick a number and start walking. Once you have counted those 100 steps stop and have a look around. Then start shooting. Look for new angles or unusual objects. Try black & white or look for bright vivid colors.
I really like the randomness of taking 100 steps, as if you were a pirate following a treasure map. What treasure will you find when you stop after that last step?
I would say spellcheck is letting me down but I know that’s just fluffing off. I’m letting me down and not checking enough. Relying too easily on your spellcheck program is not doing the best you can do. I will try to do better. Or, find a better spellchecker.
Really, it should just be a backup to your own brain. How do you use spellcheck?
You’re suddenly able to change into any animal (mythological or oddly cryptozoological included) for at least an hour but not less than an hour. Some people would call you a shapeshifter but they’d be a bit off the mark. You can’t become a door, for instance. You can’t even become a tree actually cause a tree is not animal, it’s a plant (just in case you woke up confused this morning).
What animal creature do you become and what do you do during your time as that animal? You could be a fly on the wall if you’re willing to risk death by flyswatter.
Can you describe a world (not this one, on this particular planet) in one sentence? Try not to make a long and rambling sentence. Aim for something people can read before their coffee gets cold.
Simple to play and makes a cute avatar for fun.
