Short a Dollar

One of your favourite writers has a new book out. You can not resist picking it up while you are at the bookstore. But, you don’t have quite enough cash. Sadly, you left your wallet and all your plastic at home when you changes purses. Sure, you could come another day when you have your bank card. But, the book is right there. You’ve got no plans for the night and it would be go great to get all warm and comfortable in bed with a new book by a really good writer.

You only need a bit more than a dollar. Surely you can think of a way to get that. It’s a busy store. Lots of people to ask for a little spare change. Or you could come up with some kind of performance art. What would you do?

  1. I could not resist getting the book right then. I think if I dug around long enough in the bottom of my purse I could find enough loose change to make a dollar. But I would not be able to bring myself to ask anybody for some money. Nope.

  2. I would love to be able to ask for spare change but I doubt the words would come out of my mouth. I think I’d go to the bank and get the cash and come back to the store. Sad, isn’t it?
